National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowships for Research in Turkey 2019-2020

The American Research Institute in Turkey takes pleasure in inviting applications for one to three advanced long-term fellowships for research in Turkey made possible by support from the National Endowment for the Humanities.  The fields of study cover all periods of history in the general range of the humanities and include humanistically oriented aspects of the social sciences, prehistory, history, art, archaeology, literature, and linguistics, as well as interdisciplinary aspects of cultural history.

ARIT Fellowships in the Humanities and Social Sciences in Turkey 2019-2020

The American Research Institute in Turkey is pleased to offer ARIT fellowships for research in Turkey for the 2019-2020 year.  Grants for tenures up to one academic year will be considered; applications for projects of shorter duration are also supported. ARIT offers research and study facilities as well as connections with colleagues, institutions, and authorities through its branch centers in Istanbul and Ankara.

The Kennan Institute offers paid research internships for undergraduate, graduate, and prospective graduate students. Each intern works with a scholar in residence at the Institute over a period of three to nine months. Applicants should have a good command of the Russian or Ukrainian language and ability to conduct independent research. This internship offers a flexible schedule of 15 hours per week.

Summer Language Study at ASU Melikian Center

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The Critical Languages Institute (CLI) at Arizona State University's Melikian Center is pleased to announce the opening of admissions for its 2019 summer language and study abroad programs.


CLI offers intensive courses in 12 critical and less-commonly-taught languages, and study-abroad programs in 7 locations. Participants earn 8--13 credits and cover a minimum of 2 semesters of material.
