Description
Are you interested in learning about Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia? Would you like to talk with peers as well as with alumni who have already successfully navigated REEES-related studies and professional paths? The Russian, East European, & Eurasian Studies Northeast (REEESNe) network is bringing together undergraduate and master’s students from institutions across the northeastern U.S. to engage with one another and with professionals experienced in the region.
The conference will be hosted by The Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University in New Haven, CT beginning on the morning of Friday, April 1 and ending on the afternoon of Saturday, April 2. This is a hybrid conference, with the possibility to attend in person (transportation and accommodations are the responsibility of the attendee), but also with the option to the as much of the conference online as you like. Along with student paper presentations on personal experience with REEES-related work, research, internships, study abroad, etc., the conference includes cultural events (a tour of the Russian Icon Museum and performances by Yale’s Russian Chorus and Slavic Chorus), opportunities for student networking, and guest speakers and panels that will discuss careers in non-academic REEES fields (focusing on researching/writing and on professionally beneficial opportunities abroad).
