Film Screening: Whose Is This Song?

Wednesday, January 31, 2018

On Wednesday, January 31 at 7:00 PM, join us for a screening of: Whose Is This Song?

This award-winning 2003 documentary film by Adela Peeva traces her journey across the Balkans in an attempt to discover the origins of a song she
keeps hearing at restaurants and festivals, a song that everyone claims to be an invention of their own culture. Could a song change people’s destinies? Could a song bring lovers together and then arouse blind jealousy? Could a song haunt a man for his whole life and even beyond? Could a song give rise to ethnic hatred or to revenge by hanging?
