Bulgarian Dialectology as Living Tradition

The Bulgarian Dialectology as Living Tradition, a searchable and interactive database of oral speech representing a broad range of Bulgarian dialects. Data is presented in 184 texts excerpted from material recorded in 69 different Bulgarian villages.

These samples are presented as audio files, transcribed in both Latin and Cyrillic, and translated into English. Texts are annotated at three different levels, and the website is set up to allow searches of the data at all three levels.

Data entry of the basic texts is now complete.
