It is a great pleasure for us to invite all of you to submit papers to Poljarnyj Vestnik - An International Journal of Slavic Studies. Poljarnyj Vestnik was  earlier the working papers of the University of Tromsö, but has been upgraded to an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research about Slavic languages, literatures and cultures. We now welcome submissions for our fifth volume after the reorganization. Contributions from Slavists from any country and institution are welcome. Articles are published in English or Russian.

Please join the Ancient Civilizations Workshop for Professor Alain Bresson's talk entitled "A Kingdom of Two Tales (and a Few Cities)" this Friday, April 13th at 12:00 pm in Gates Blake 133.

 

Prof. Bresson is the Robert O. Anderson Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Classics and Department of History. He specializes in the study of ancient economy, with a focus on the evolution of institutions. He has also published extensively on topics including the history, epigraphy and numismatics of the ancient world.
