SRAS Summer Study Abroad Programs


All program deadlines are March 15, 2019.


Summer in most SRAS locations:

Teach English in Vladimir, Russia (The American Home)

Just two weeks remain until the March 1st application deadline for ESL teaching positions with the American Home's American English Program in Vladimir, Russia!


The American English Program has been helping Vladimir residents to learn English since 1992 and currently has more than 600 students each semester who are taught by 10 American and 4 Russian teachers.

Davis Fellowships for learning Russian at Middlebury

We are honored to award up to 10 Davis Fellowships for Peace this coming summer! These 10 recipients will receive a full tuition scholarship to Middlebury’s Summer Intensive Language Program at Monterey.


The deadline to submit a completed application is February 15, 2019 at 11:59 p.m., pacific time.


All students will be notified by March 15, 2019.


Proficiency-Based Pedagogy for Russian: Summer Institute for Teachers

The applications are now open for the STARTALK Summer program at Middlebury College Davis School of Russian.


The principles of second language acquisition and proficiency-based instruction will serve as the foundation for this intensive pedagogy program.


The Institute includes 10 days of online classes and a residential session on campus, both required.


Online Session: June 24 - July 3, 2019 (required)

Residential Session on Middlebury Campus: July 7 - 21, 2019 (required)


July 2019: study abroad in the Baltics (Russian Literature, language and translation)

The Division of Russian and Slavic Studies Program at Hunter College of the City University of New York is pleased to announce the second round of its 4-week study abroad program in the Baltics in July, 2019! The program includes a literature course "The Baltic Transit in Russian Literature" (taught in English, with the option of signing up for a "Russian" section), Russian language courses of different levels, and a literary translation workshop. The program is designed for CUNY students but is open for all!

Leah Feldman will be discussing her book, On the Threshold of Eurasia: Revolutionary Poetics in the Caucasus. She will be joined in conversation by Na'ama Rokem. A Q&A and book signing will follow the discussion.
