Nazarbayev University Summer School in Russian and Eurasian Studies

Nazarbayev University (Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan) is pleased to announce our next session of the Summer School in Russian and Eurasian Studies (SSRES), an 8-week intensive program in Russian or Kazakh languages. Classes follow standardized US curricula and textbooks, which means that students can return seamlessly to language programs at their home institutions.

At NU, students study languages on our modern campus in an environment that minimizes culture shock and maximizes close contact with multilingual local students.

Beloit College summer program (CLS) is accepting applications to study Russian. CLS is an immersive summer program that enables students to complete a semester or entire year of Russian over the summer. CLS offers a unique opportunity to either start Russian or greatly expand one’s fluency, while working with top faculty.

US Holocaust Museum 2020 Hess Seminar, Between Enemy Combatant and Racial ‘Other’: Nazi Persecution of Soviet POWs

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum to let you know that the application for our 2020 Hess Seminar, Between Enemy Combatant and Racial ‘Other’: Nazi Persecution of Soviet POWs is now live. This year’s Seminar will explore Soviet prisoners of war (POWs) as one of the many victim groups that the Nazis deliberately persecuted in their campaign on the Eastern Front.

The Critical Languages Institute (CLI) at Arizona State University - Study Abroad programs

The Critical Languages Institute (CLI) at Arizona State University's Melikian Center is pleased to announce the opening of admissions for its 2020 summer language and study-abroad programs NEXT TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1st, 2019.

CLI offers intensive courses in 12 critical and less-commonly-taught languages, and study-abroad programs in 8 locations. Participants earn 8-13 credits and cover a minimum of 2 semesters of material.

Due to generous ASU support CLI participants pay NO TUITION, and are only charged a flat fee of $1,500 instead (plus study-abroad fees if applicable).

American Councils Study Abroad - Critical Language Scholarship Program

We are pleased to announce that the application for the 2020 Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is now open!  We welcome your students to apply now to learn a critical foreign language next summer on a fully-funded study abroad program.

Aloha! The National Foreign Language Resource Center (NFLRC) is pleased to announce its two-part webinars on Harnessing High-Leverage Teaching Practices (HLTPs) in Project-Based Language Learning (PBLL), which will take place on Wednesday, June 5 (Part 1) and Wednesday, June 12 (Part 2).

 

In the webinars, we will explore the question “What HLTP concepts would help me design, develop, and implement PBLL experiences more effectively?”
