ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Celebrating its 71st summer in 2021, the Language Workshop offers:

1. IMMERSION PROGRAMS, 2 semesters of instruction, 8-10 credits, funding available
Students of Russian study in intensive 2-month courses on the IU main campus, with daily small-group and individualized conversation and drill sessions run by Language Flagship personnel, with daily in-language activities, and with language dorms shared with native speakers, in an all-Russian environment. Russian 6 includes academic mini-seminars conducted, in Russian, by experts in their fields. (Program delivered online if in-person instruction is not possible.)

2. ONLINE + OVERSEAS PROGRAMS FOR BCS AND UZBEK
Suspended due to COVID. Online/In-Person options are available for BCS.

3. ONLINE/IN PERSON PROGRAMS, 2 semesters of instruction, 6-8 credits, funding available

ABOUT COVID
The Language Workshop will offer Immersion and in-person courses only if the University determines that on-campus residency and in-person instruction can be provided without health risk to students, faculty, and staff. This decision is expected in March.

Applicants concerned about in-person attendance are encouraged to apply before the January 29 deadline. The Workshop will contact admitted students once there is a final decision regarding course delivery mode. Students will be able to withdraw or change their plans without penalty or fees at that time.
