The DDRA is a generous 6-12 month fellowship for doctoral dissertation research in non-Western countries. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who have Ph.D. candidacy at time the grant begins.  Applicants also must have achieved a level of language proficiency necessary to conduct proposed research.
