Turkish Circle, Zahit Atçıl on "Why Was Prince Mustafa Killed?", Feb. 24, 2015

We invite you to the next Turkish Circle with Dr. Atçıl, one of our recent PhDs from NELC. He will be talking about his research on the execution of the famous Ottoman sultan Süleyman's eldest son in the sixteenth century. The topic has become popular in Turkey recently thanks to the TV series, Muhteşem Yüzyıl (The Magnificent Century).

American Councils (ACTR) Summer Russian Programs; application deadline March 1, 2015

In response to recent requests, American Councils (ACTR) has extended the deadline for its summer Advanced Russian Language and Area Studies Program (RLASP), Business Russian Language and Internship Program (BRLI), and Heritage Speakers Program to Sunday, March 1, 2015. Scholarship support for participants on these and other ACTR programs remains available to students with demonstrated financial need.



International House Residential Fellowship Program, University of Chicago; application deadline June 19, 2015

The International House Residential Fellowship Program helps to ensure the exceptional geographic, cultural and economic diversity that is central to the mission of the House. Fellows are selected on the basis of academic merit, leadership skills, and their unique abilities to contribute to the social and intellectual life of International House.  During the 2014-2015 academic year, International House awarded 33 Residential Fellowships to students from 18 countries around the world.
