The journal Identity Studies in the Caucasus and the Black Sea Region announces call for papers for its upcoming issue: "The City in the Caucasus and the Black Sea Region".


In traditional western urban theory, the city has had a rich history of being conceptualized through the prisms of culture, history, politics, psychology, economics and sociology.  The next issue of Identity Studies will be dedicated to the question of the city in the Caucasus and the Black Sea region after the advent of modernity.


ASCN Short-Term Grants for PhD Students and Assistant Professors; application deadline on a rolling basis

The ACADEMIC SWISS CAUCASUS NET (ASCN) offers short-term grants to Armenian and Georgian PhD. students and assistant professors in social sciences or humanities.Selected grant holders have the opportunity to spend up to three months at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland to work on their PhD. thesis or on other research projects,  or to participate in academic conferences. They have full access to the University library and benefit from state of the art research infrastructure.
