Czech at University of Pittsburgh Summer Language Institute

The University of Pittsburgh’s Slavic, East European, and Near Eastern Summer Language Institute will offer a 6-week intensive Beginning Level Czech class June 4 – July 13, 2018. Courses are open to undergraduates, graduate students, professionals, and retirees, and all accepted students are eligible for SLI scholarship funding.  The program will cover approximately the equivalent of one academic year worth of instruction.  Classes meet on the University of Pittsburgh’s main campus Monday – Friday 9am – 3pm.  In addition to language classes, students will watch Czech films, learn folk songs, practice cooking authentic Czech fare, and attend lectures on Czech culture.

At the SLI we also offer Arabic, Turkish, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, Hungarian, Polish, Russian, Slovak, and Ukrainian classes as well as abroad programs in Podgorica, Montenegro; Prague, the Czech Republic; Krakow, Poland, and Moscow, Russia.  Please see the website for more information and to access the application.
