Online Resources for Yiddish — Spring 2020

In light of this and many other universities transition to online/distance learning for the spring 2020 term in response to the international COVID-19 pandemic, CEERES has compiled this brief list of online resources for teaching Yiddish. Vaybertaytsh Podcast

Vaybertaytsh is a feminist podcast for the Yiddish-speaking and Yiddish-curious. Vaybertaytsh’s mission is not only to be entertaining, but educational. We want the podcast to be accessible to everyone, regardless of their level of Yiddish. As such we offer transcripts here. As well as  relevant vocabulary lists, discussion questions, and activities to go along with our episodes here.


The 'Yiddish Voice' Podcast

Kadimah Radio

The Kadimah Yiddish Radio Show, produced and presented by Alex Dafner, features reports from Australia, Israel and other Jewish communities around the world, as well as songs, stories, comedy, interviews, celebrations and commemorations.


Folksbiene LIVE

If audiences cannot go to Broadway right now, National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (Folksbiene) will bring the stage to them. Starting this week, the longest consecutively producing theatre in the U.S. and the world's oldest continuously operating Yiddish theatre company is launching Folksbiene LIVE!, an online celebration of Yiddish culture featuring livestreamed theater, American Jewish performers, workshops, and other events—including a talkback with the cast of the award-winning Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish—to entertain audiences young and old.
