Russian Language Program Coordinator

The UC Berkeley Slavic Department seeks to appoint a Lecturer who will serve as Russian Language Coordinator for the 2022-23 academic year, with the possibility of renewal and of subsequent continuing status. The position is anticipated to be full-time with a start date of July 1, 2022.
Applicants should have experience teaching Russian language at the college level to speakers of English, knowledge of language pedagogy, and administrative skills. A successful applicant will administer the Russian language program, including the placement of undergraduate students and the training and supervision of graduate student instructors; teach language pedagogy for graduate students; and be prepared to teach Russian at all levels. Minimum qualifications for the position include a near-native proficiency in Russian and English; a Master’s degree (or equivalent international degree), preferably in Russian language or other relevant field; and a legal permit to work in the United States by the appointment start date.
