You are cordially invited to the Contemporary Ukrainian Poetry Reading that will be taking place at the ASEEES Annual Convention on Saturday, November 12, 5:00 PM, Chicago, Palmer House Hilton, 3rd Floor, Salon 12.

This will be an evening of contemporary Ukrainian poetry featuring readings by Yuriy Tarnawsky, Alex Averbuch, Oksana Lutsyshyna, and Vasyl Makhno. The readings will be given in the original Ukrainian, dealing with Ukraine’s present and past, its horrors and inspirations, and its multiculturalism and multiethnicity. They will be followed by Q&A with authors.

ARISC Graduate/Postdoctoral Fellowship 2022-23

The American Research Institute of the South Caucasus (ARISC) announces the availability of graduate/postdoctoral fellowships in support of research in the South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia). During their stay in the South Caucasus, the fellow is expected to give an ARISC-sponsored public presentation on a subject related to their research. The fellow will acknowledge ARISC in any publication that emerges from the research carried out during the fellowship. Funding for this fellowship is provided by ARISC General Funds.

Program Officer, Tajikistan Secondary Schools English Teacher Professional Development Program

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Officer is part of a team that delivers the Tajikistan Secondary Schools English Teacher Professional Development Program (TSSET) program in Tajikistan, funded for 18 months by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe.  Based in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Program Officer is responsible for administration, monitoring, and reporting for the nationwide initiative that aims to improve the teaching of English in schools, with emphasis on the secondary level

Russian language teacher at the Undergraduate Russian School (URU) or Undergraduate Chinese Russian School (UCR) at the Presidio of Monterey. The Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) offers foreign language instruction in more than two dozen languages on a schedule that extends throughout the year. Courses are taught six hours per day, five days a week with the exception of federal holidays.

Research Assistant, Ukraine and Russia

The Research Assistant will monitor the Ukrainian information environment. They will work with the DFRLab’s global research team and Atlantic Council experts and will partner with local media outlets to achieve project goals. They will also help build and manage a network of international and local partners to coordinate research activities and conduct trainings on research methods to foster digital resilience throughout the region.
