Indiana University Summer Language Program
Indiana University is accepting applications until May 6 for Title VIII Fellowships for the summer study of Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, BCS, Hungarian, Estonian, Lithuanian, Azerbaijani, Kyrgyz, Tatar, and Uzbek. (http://languageworkshop.indiana.edu/funding)

2022 TITLE VIII PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
- RUSSIAN 7 is an Advanced-High/Superior-level 4-week, online, evening maintenance course designed to help participants maintain their proficiency and to improve their command of formal, academic Russian. Title VIII funding available.
- HUNGARIAN 1 is a hybrid program combining 4 weeks of online language and culture study with 4 weeks in Budapest. Title VIII funding available.
TITLE VIII DETAILS
Title VIII applicants must be U.S. citizens and graduate students, postgraduate students, or researchers or scholars in Russian, East European, or Eurasian Studies. Fellowships cover tuition, academic fees, and provide a living stipend. Fellowships for Budapest also cover international travel, study-abroad-related fees.
THE 2022 LANGUAGE WORKSHOP
The Indiana University Language Workshop offers intensive for-credit instruction in 27 less-commonly-taught languages.
Russian is taught at 6 levels of study in person on IU’s Bloomington campus in a two-month pseudo-immersive environment. (http://languageworkshop.indiana.edu/russian)
Hungarian is taught at the elementary level in a two-month hybrid format combining a month of online study and a month of in-person study in Budapest. (http://languageworkshop.indiana.edu/hungarian)
Other languages are taught in a two-month fully online format. (http://languageworkshop.indiana.edu/languages)
All courses include academic credit, cultural programming, and OPI certificates.
