The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Carolina (https://sc.edu/study/colleges_schools/artsandsciences/dllc/index.php) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Russian in the field of Russian Linguistics to start August 16, 2023. We seek a talented scholar and a dynamic teacher with proven classroom success, as well as a congenial colleague eager to work as part of the committed Russian Program team. The flexibility to teach outside a specific specialization is important. Participation in UofSC’s vibrant Linguistics Program, a PhD granting interdepartmental unit, will afford the successful candidate the opportunity to teach courses on Russian/Slavic and general linguistics to both undergraduates and graduate students. We welcome candidates interested in contributing to UofSC’s new major in Cyber Intelligence. The position requires a Ph.D. in Russian, Linguistics, or a related field in hand by August 15, 2023, native or near-native Russian and English fluency, and the ability to teach Russian language at all levels and offer a range of courses on Russian linguistics topics in English and Russian.
